D-Flow has access to excellent calibration facilities at Luleå
University of Technology. The air calibration and test facility
has a flow range from 1 to 90 000 l/h with ± 0.15% accuracy.
The facility is fully automated for long-term and repeated test
cycles.
The air flow calibration and test facility makes it possible
for us to verify the performance of our customers’ gas
flow meters. It also considerably facilitates the design of
new prototypes, electronics and software.
The air flow facility is based on the principle of dynamic weighing
of water. Water is pumped out from a tank. At the top, this
tank is connected to the flow meter undergoing testing. As water
is pumped out from the tank, air is sucked in through the gas
flow meter. At steady-state conditions the volumetric flow of
air equals the volumetric flow of water which is determined
using a reference flow-determination system using high-accuracy
continuous weighing technology.
The
performance of the water calibration and test facility:
Total accuracy ± 0.15
% of measured value with 95% confidence level.
